This powerpoint includes screen shots of the opening title sequence from "Obsessed"- These are the opening title credits from “Obsessed”. The opening titles are all placed on to the opening sequence of the film there is no edited in screens in the opening title sequence. They have used small white text for all the titles that looks almost like it could be hand written. The way that all the titles have been placed all the titles are arranged on the shot in the most suitable way so that the titles look like part of the shot. The opening sequence titles in “Obsessed” or effective for the opening sequence because they fit with the over all mood of the opening sequence of the film. The key good things about these opening titles sequence is that they have used a font that looks like it fits the over mood of the opening sequence. The key negative thing about these opening sequence titles it that some times with the use of the light colours you can’t see what the titles say.
This powerpoint includes screen shots of the opening title sequence from "Panic Room"- These are the opening title credits from “Panic Room”. The opening titles all look 3D with the use of text the text it white, they are all placed on a New York backdrop. The camera moves around the sky lines in a slow panning movement revealing different titles. These titles are very effective as opening credits because it keeps the are not only interesting to look at because of the way they have arranged them in amongst the building they are also in keeping with the theme of the film it being set in New York. I think the key good points in these opening sequences titles is they way that they have used a New York sky line as the backdrop to the titles because it is interesting for a viewer to watch. The only negative thing about these opening credit titles is the angles at which the camera shows some of the titles make them quite hard to read.
This powerpoint includes screen shots of the opening title sequence from "James Bond, Casino Royal"- These are the opening title sequence from “James Bond Casino Royal”. The opening credits are all included in a cartoon style sequence that features lots of elements that are in keeping with the theme of the film such as, cards and guns. The titles them selves are all in capital letter text and in white. The use of the contrast of the light colored text against the dark colored background. These opening credit titles are very in keeping with the theme of the film. They are also very interesting and dynamic to watch because the titles are inter cut with the cartoon style sequence. These tiles are very effective as opening sequences titles because they or very relevant to the theme of the film and are interesting because of the backdrop they are set against. The main positive thing about these opening sequence titles are the way that they have created a unique moving background to put them onto. I don’t think that there are any negative points to these opening credits because they are interesting to watch and very relevant to the film.
This powerpoint includes screen shots of the opening title sequence from " Se7en"- These are the opening title sequence from “Se7en”. The opening titles are sometime placed in edited in screens and are sometimes placed onto the camera shot included in the opening sequence. All the titles use small white distorted text that almost looks aged. The opening sequence titles are effective in this film because they are inter cut with shots are that are tension building. And the titles them selves have been edited in such a way that they flash when they are on the screen this helps add to the unsettling sense of the opening credits. The positive thing about this opening title credits are that they have used a lot of different ways to display them through out the film, such as on edited in screens and over camera shots. The one negative thing about these opening title credits is that each title is not left on the screen for very young which makes them hard to read.
Key elements that I have learnt from this research-
I have learnt that in the opening sequence credits they usually include first the distribution company and production company names and then they usually sate the key actor’s names in the order of their importance in the film. Other key names that an opening sequence typically should include is-
• Casting directors
• Costume designer
• Director of music
• Head of editing
• Production designer
• Director of photography
• Producer
• Screen writer
• Director
